Mackinaw Road Monday: Like to Know
Hi there and Happy Monday! Actually Thursday. What a week! I am so excited that you can now find all of my favorites over on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app! I’ll be sharing more about how it all works later in this post. I would also like to know your thoughts on the mirror that I purchased for our dining room, what color scheme works for our fall dining table, if you’ve seen one of my favorite interior designer’s new show on Netflix, and what you think about this sweater. Let’s get started!

My daughter and I have been loving the home shows on Netflix. It all started with our discovery of Get Organized with The Home Edit on Netflix. Now, “editing” is one of our preferred mother-daughter activities. And, let me tell you, I think that F has a strong-to-quite-strong future in home editing. She is certainly guiding the troupes (i.e., me) in getting our house in order! I am also all caught up on Shea and Syd McGee’s new show Dream Home Makeover, complete with beautiful designs and funny one liners. “Of quartz.”
This is the mirror that we purchased for our dining room. You may have read that we moved the one that was there into the entryway. I think that the shape is perfect for the space! I’m not sure about the tone of the gold. We do have muted brass throughout the house, but this doesn’t feel as muted to me as I had hoped it would. I took an Instagram Poll and these were the results regarding whether or not to keep the mirror and whether or not to paint the frame of the mirror… And… I think I’m going to go with the majority on this one!
It was just an Instagram Polling kind of day last Friday, because I also surveyed the audience for Dining Room Table color scheme options. More specifically, I asked for preferences regarding a fall tablescape. (You can check out our more traditional autumn table from a couple of years ago by clicking here.) Summer was so wonderful this year and I am completely drawn to keeping the light and airy feeling going with our dining room tablescape. But then, I see the rich jewel tones, and I love those too! Here were the Instagram poll results. I’m hoping to have an actual table and not just back-and-forth random thoughts for you next week.
Every season, I allow myself one or two purchases to update my seasonal wardrobe. This autumn, I purchased the top pictured below from The Counting House. It is so super soft and cozy! And, someone may have accidentally spilled red wine on it (promise it wasn’t me!) and it came out fairly easily with the aid of some stain remover. Bonus! Here it is paired with these jeans and these shoes.
Which leads me to this … there are now more ways to shop our colonial home, the beach cabin, and my look. If you are short on time and just want to get to the quick of it (i.e., a caption rather than a full blog post), you can follow Mackinaw_Road on the LiketoKnow.it app by downloading the app here, typing in Mackinaw_Road under the Influencer Search, and clicking on Follow. In the same vein, I have added a couple of new pages to Mackinaw Road. These pages (located on in the Menu on my Homepage) have clickable images and links to items at OUR HOME & BEACH CABIN as well as pieces from MY LOOK. If you prefer to stick it out with me and the traditional blog posts, I will also have photos as well as links in these posts that you can click on to be taken directly to the product.
Okay, I think that’s it! Hopefully/fingers crossed/knock on wood, I’ll be back next week with our fall tablescape.
Have a great weekend everyone!
