Cozy Winter Clothes- Mackinaw Road Monday
Good morning and Welcome to Mackinaw Road Monday where most of the time things are pretty random but today are actually somewhat organized. I’m talking about Cozy Winter Clothes. I’ve put together a little board of all of the options I’m considering for this winter. Since I usually have 2-3 colors (I use that term very loosely as the colors are usually black, cream/white, and camel) I wear in each season, it makes it easier to mix and match tops and pants for the maximum number of cozy outfits available to me.

**This list consists of mainly indoor wear or outfits for a quick trip to the store. Super warm coats and boots will get their own post later.
Sherpa Half-Zip | Wool Blend Coat | Pom Beanie
Cozy Mockneck | Sweater Joggers | Lounge Sweater
Cable Knit Sweater | Oversized Sweater | Color Block Sweatshirt
Let’s start in the upper right hand corner and work our way across the round-up above. I love a warm “jacket” to wear in our house. Our older home almost always calls for an extra layer (or two) in the winters. I have a similar sherpa pullover from Abercrombie last year, and it is a definite warm and cozy favorite. It was on the every-other-day schedule of quarantine last spring. This one is definitely on the replacement list for when the old one gets too worn. Here is another option. And another.
This wool blend coat would be a complete splurge. I had a camel coat for much of my 20s and into my 30s. I wore it so much that the lining was shred by the end. This looks like a wonderful replacement that I could throw over cozy clothes for school pick up or wear to events (whenever those are safe again).
Do you remember those two layers I was talking about for cozy winters inside? Hats are usually that second layer for our daughter and me. I love the pom on this one! The hat would also make a great gift in the Under $50 category.
One of the things that makes me warm and cozy is having my neck covered. I truly am a product of the 80s/90s with my love of a good turtleneck- haha! I love this cozy mockneck sweater for warmth and style.
Sweater Joggers?!?! You had me at sweater! And joggers. I mean, this is pretty close to a chocolate-peanut butter kind of situation.
I love this camel-colored lounge sweater. The fact that it is also a turtleneck is just icing on the cake.
Nothing quite says Winter to me like a cable knit sweater. This look like it could be worn anytime between now and next May. Beautiful!
I love that this oversized chenille sweater could be thrown over a pair of leggings to run some errands. “Oversized” and “Chenille” seem like a great combo for Cozy.
If sweatshirts are more your jam for winter clothing, this one is super cute with the color blocks.
A flat is one of my prefered shoe choices. This is a pair that you could slip in your bag to switch out of boots and into when at someone else’s house. They’re also great for those random semi-warm late fall/early winter days when you get to let your feet breath a bit. And the option that I own even has the designated colors mentioned above!
These are THE BEST slippers for me! My neighbor recommended them a few years ago and they have held up remarkably well! And they are so warm. And thus, cozy. They even come with removable soles, so you can take the trash out, and then remove the soles before coming back in the house. You never have to take the actual slipper off!
If you are going to buy one thing from this list, please let this be it! I love the mission behind this hat. As part of the York Project, for every hat purchased, a donation of a tote bag containing a bottled water, socks, and toilet paper is donated to a homeless man or woman in the United States. I learned about the York Project from The Counting House, where you can purchase York Project items. The beanies are available in the perfect Evergreen Color there. This would make a wonderful Under $50 Holiday Gift. Not only would you be giving someone a really nice quality hat, you would also be supporting a local small business and providing necessities to those without a home.
Cabin Socks | Leggings | Cable-Knit Sweater
Pullover | Sneakers | Jeggings
Joggers | Striped Sweater| Joggers
The York Project is a tough one to follow, so I’ll keep the rest of this short. And, yes, there is a repeat row (insert face to palm here- lol!) so that will help to keep it extra quick.
Cabin Socks are a favorite to have handy. I think maybe I’ll keep a pair at the Beach Cabin for all of us this winter. These would make great stocking stuffers or you could add them to a pajamas set gift (again, this could likely be done for Under $50).
I purchase almost all of my workout gear from Old Navy. These leggings seem like they would be great for checking email with the intent of eventually working out. Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything. Wink.
I love, love, love the look of this pointelle popcorn sweater. It’s definitely on my list. (There are six colors from which to choose, too!)
R has the men’s version of this cozy pullover, and I just keep it with my things. I wear it all the time. Shhhh.
Because I actually do jog in my running shoes and they get worn fast, I was thinking it might be worthwhile to own a pair of tennies just for walking to get the kids from school and playing uber driver for them. These sneakers just arrived! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a pretty sneaker. Ever.
You’re probably tired by now of hearing about my jeggings- lol! They really are the best and so comfy. It’s no fun when they have to go in the washing machine and I have to find something else to wear. The wash that I have is frequently sold out, but this one looks to be very similar. They also come in petite and tall variations.
I’ve been on the hunt for some joggers. The subtle color in these is so tempting. And, of course, they look very comfy for sun salutations. And doing the dishes.
This cozy winter clothes list wouldn’t be complete for me without at least one striped sweater. Anytime that “supersoft” is in the description, it must be a good sign!
Here is another jogger option … The pintuck on this one is a great detail and the price seems reasonable too.
Whew! Thanks for sticking with me through the post!!! Hope this helps with gifts as well as staying warm and cozy this winter.
Also…Since I posted all of the Gift Guide preferences on Instagram Stories in a poll, I feel somewhat obligated to at least actually put together some of the Gift Guides. I’ll be working on those in the coming weeks. If you are an early shopper, you can check out Gifts for Traveling Kids and Holiday Gifts for Almost Everyone. I’ll be creating new gift guides this year again, but in the meantime, hopefully you are able to get a jump start on some shopping from those.
Have a great week!
