Last Minute Gifts, Holiday Outfits, & Holiday Rooms
Today I’m sharing some last-minute gift ideas, our kids’ holiday rooms, and some casual outfits/pajamas for the holiday season this year. But, not in that order…

Holiday Rooms
We don’t decorate our bedroom for the holidays, but it is fun to let the kids exercise their creative muscles and add a few things to transform their bedrooms into holiday rooms. They each have tabletop trees that they decorate with ornaments from the ornament box. Last year, I also bought them some Christmas sheets from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They were out of stock the last time I looked. Nonetheless, here is the link if you want to keep your eye on them in case they come back in stock. These sheets are very similar to the ones that our daughter has (not pictured). We also threw a garland with some glitter over her chair.
This is a very similar pattern to the flannel plaid sheets that our son has. This is really the only time of year that unmade beds don’t bother me… as much. It looks like the sheets are no longer available but the duvet cover and shams can help get this look too. I like that the decorations aren’t a lot of work but provide a bit of holiday spirit.
Last-Minute Gifts
Several stores have order deadlines this week in order to get your gifts in time for Christmas. Some of our favorite stores are offering a Buy Online, Pick Up in Stores option at certain locations. These include Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, and Old Navy among others. Or, you can even buy gift cards (E-Cards or Standard) from stores we love like Abercrombie & Fitch. I ended up buying a few gift cards from various stores this season and then a little something to open with them like a headband or masks. It will be fun to look forward to spending the day shopping with my tween to help her spend her gift card in January.
When I was younger, my dad bought the refillable popcorn bucket at our small town movie theater. On Sunday afternoons, we would often play tennis, grab some Shasta Colas at the gas station, go to the theater to fill up our bucket and then go home (no movie needed). Needless to say, my dad and I love popcorn and could eat it every day for the rest of our lives. For the popcorn lover in your life, this gift looks like the perfect fit with this too.
A subscription or gift card to a subscription is always a great last minute gift too, especially for those with whom you won’t be able to celebrate in person this year. I’ve given this one to both women and men and have received positive feedback. I’ve received this one and loved it. A friend also recommended this one and I already have it set up to gift.
Holiday Clothes
While we won’t be dressing up much this holiday season, there are some casual outfit options for the family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from the Cozy Winter Clothes post and this post with Kids’ Clothes options.
Below are most of the clothes from the post, cozy clothes I have my eye on, and some I already own. Just click the picture to shop. You can check out the current York Project options here.
Holiday Pajamas
And, if you are a last minute matching pajamas kind of person (as I am) or just plan to spend the majority of the holiday season in jammies, below are some great options for that. The good news is that a lot of the items listed are on sale! This is great not only for matching sets for the entire family, but you could also do matching kids or even matching cousins sets. There are even kid-and-dog sets. Or, matching cat-and-dog coats. The possibilities are endless–haha! Just click on the photos below to be taken to the items.
There are a lot of good (and easy to shop) Family Pajama Sets at Target. A lot of them even include a cute pet option.
Hanna Andersson has the classic stripe pajamas that have been in so many lovely family photos. I’m not sure I can convince R to try that style but think that the plaid is the right fit. They have a lot of fun options this year, including Star Wars.
The Company Store also has some super cute matching pajamas. I love the Holiday Dog set.
Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids are go-to stores for us all year round, but especially over the holidays.
That’s all…
… for now! I hope to be back later this week with our Christmas Dining Room. I’m also planning to take some photos of the nursery Gretchen and I did for my twin niece and nephew a year and a half ago. Better Late Than Never might need to become my official motto.
