Spring Table Setting: Gray and Pink
All of this sun in March has me ready for spring! Our spring mantel already got a little refresh and our dining room is next on the list. This spring table setting involves muted terracotta, classic spring pink, and gray stripes.
I pulled out our wedding china for this classic spring setting. It’s simple yet elegant detail feels like spring to me. It goes perfectly with my grandmother’s silverware and her water goblets.
My SIL knows how much a love a pretty table setting. She gave me a basket full of napkins, table runners, etc. for Christmas. I am going to have so much fun pulling them out and incorporating them on our seasonal tables this year.
My mom gave me some of her extra pussy willows and I added a lovely pink floral stem. Because we don’t have a chandelier or any ceiling lighting in this space, I like the height that the stems lend to our dining room.
A traditional bar cart is on my never-ending list of pieces to incorporate into our home, but until that time, this console works just fine. It fits perfectly between the two windows and is narrow enough that it doesn’t obstruct the pathway around the table. Our berry garland is still going strong. It is always nice to have items that can transition across seasons. My grandmother’s taper holders are serving as decor objects for the spring season. They took a brief interlude to serve as drumsticks for the 8-year old until I called for a indefinite intermission on that performance.
Stripes area a classic element that never go out of style. I love the striped napkins, turned placemats for this calming spring table setting. The pink napkins give a subtle hint of color that is called for in order to tie the table together.
The large terracotta and gray colored ceramic urn feels very garden-like and reminds me that the spring planting season is around the corner. Soon, the faux stems will be switched out for the real deal.
The Georgetown winter scene was once again switched out for this abstract painting that I created last year with wall paint that I had laying around. You can read about that process and some other art project ideas here.
I’m looking forward to cooking a small Easter dinner for our family and will be working on the menu soon.
