Mackinaw Road: Favorite Beauty Products
Hi there! Once again, I am definitely not a fashion or beauty blogger but I thought it might be fun to update the beauty products I’m loving as we enter 2022. I think that almost all of the items came recommended by family or friends.

In addition to my face wash, I’ve been using this facial scrub every few days and am loving it.
I also recently bought this face cream because it combined the two things that I think my 40-something face needs… vitamin C and retinol.
I think I mentioned this already, but we were introduced us to this fun hot air brush this summer. I recently purchased my own and am loving it. It works on my super straight and fine hair as well as my daughter’s thick and wavy hair. Win-win.
I’ve tried several different foundations this past year, and, while they were all good, this one is emerging as my favorite.
Eye liner is just.so.difficult for me to apply. I have tried all different kinds, but recently purchased this eye liner and it is by far the easiest for me. For a more dramatic look, I also like this one.
Washing mascara off at night only to find it smudged under my eyes in the morning is a no-go. I know that I could invest in some eye make up remover, but the skin around my eyes is already super sensitive and I’d rather not be rubbing it any more than I have to. This mascara is great! It comes off so easily (it almost peels off) leaving very little-to-no under eye residue in the morning. My daughter keeps using mine, so I think I’ll be ordering a second tube soon.
Another fun 40s development for me is the increased need for an eyebrow pencil. I love this one for the pencil and the brush combination. Bonus that it has moisturizing ingredients to help my eyebrows look healthy.
For special occasions (which are few and far between lately), this is a fun cream shadow stick.
I remember splurging on a lipgloss in my 20s and loved it. I recently rediscovered it in the form of a lip cream. It’s still a favorite. For a long time, I’ve been using this tinted chapstick- perfect for winter lips.
Finally, this Amazonian clay blush is perfect for adding a touch a color during these less than sunny winter months. I also really liked this blush but just wanted to try something new.
Oh, and one more, non beauty (sort of) item that I absolutely love (and have ordered twice now because people keeping picking it up, playing with, and moving it) is this sweater comb. I’ve tried the battery operated sweater shavers but found that this metal mesh and cedar wood comb works the best for me.
I think that is it for now!
