April Updates on Mackinaw Road
Happy May Day! Here’s to really hoping nice weather finds us soon. April was a fun month with spring break and a birthday celebration. Below are some April updates including a book, a rug or two, streaming shows, Mother’s Day gift suggestions, a roller skating theme party, and a patio sofa obsession.

April Updates: Pineapple Street
This book definitely makes my favorites list. It is well written, witty, and makes you think about your own social biases, family dynamics, and more. The author’s quick quips and small truths on social behavior got me every time.
April Updates: One Rug for You, One Rug for Me
I ordered this rug for a friend’s basement refresh and I love it! It is soooo soft. The charcoal/beige color was both subtle and beautiful. And, the pattern feels very transitional. As in, it could go with so many different styles. Better yet? A 5×7 is under $100.
Inspired, I ordered this rug for our own basement. I love that the bordeaux color somehow seems to tie both R’s style (red and plaid) and my own (taupe and cream) together. This 5×7 was again under the $100 mark. Crew was a huge fan too.
April Updates: Streaming Shows
The Beach Cottage Chronicles– on Magnolia Network showcases different cottages on the water. The homes are beautiful and the stories are lovely.
Somebody Feed Phil– In this travel documentary series on Netflix, Phil Rosenthal goes around to different cities trying local fare. This would be a fun show to get yourselves excited/oriented to a place you are traveling to soon. It is also entertaining to watch in regard to cities you have visited in the past. As I mentioned in the this post, we watched the Lisbon episode before our spring break trip.
April Updates: Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is around the corner, and I put together a little round up of possible gifts for the occasion. (Some would make great group gifts if there are multiple siblings!)
April Updates: Roller Skating
We went roller skating in April! Well, I ordered the gift bags/shirts and others went skating haha. Next time for sure! I still had the best time. I was told that I was turning this “too retro” but roller skating is retro, isn’t it? Anyway, below are some ideas in case you too want to turn roller skating retro 😉
April Updates: Patio Furniture Obsession
I have had my eye on this outdoor sofa for years and this is the best price I have seen. Ever. The chairs look so nice too!
