A Classic Thanksgiving Tablescape
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! While this article will likely be of little use to you as we head into the Christmas season, you can pin it or save it for next year. So, here it is… a Classic Thanksgiving Tablescape.
A Classic Thanksgiving Tablescape
We hosted Thanksgiving again this year and it is one of my favorite holidays/occasions to host. The menu is already (mostly) set and that allows for more focus on family… and the tablescape 🙂 This year, I wanted it to be classic with some whimsical elements thrown in. The color palette ended up being mainly burnt orange and burgundy with some light brown accents.
Because the burgundy patterned tablecloth was pretty busy, I was able to add solid, calming colors on top. I started with draping stems down the center of the table with our pine cone garland layered on top. Then, I sprinkled in my grandmother’s taper holders with acorn and twig candles. Scattered gold acorns from my mom and the squirrel/acorn salt & pepper shakers added the perfect final touches.
Just kidding… the perfect, perfect final touch was the floral arrangement from my brother (to my mom for her birthday).
For the table setting, I used our everyday plates and purchased some timeless bread/appetizer plates for the occasion. My grandmother’s silver and goblets completed the look.
The soft and feathery wreath on the mirror above the bar cart ties in nicely with the table.
And the metal turkey tea light holders are a whimsical accompaniment too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
