Fall Closet Staples
I recently read The Kingdom of Prep: The Rise and (Almost) Fall of J. Crew. Having been a J. Crew/ rollneck sweater fan since high school, this book was super interesting. Even if you aren’t a J. Crew enthusiast, there is so much fashion culture history that this book is still a must read. Speaking of clothing, this post is dedicated to just that. While summer will always have my heart, I do appreciate the coziness that fall brings. Read on for tried and true (and some wishlist items) fall closet staples that I am looking forward to bringing back out this autumn.

A Spring Dresses Round Up
I love a good spring dresses round up. While I tend toward polka dots, ruffles, and/or stripes in very neutral colors, I tried to include a little something for everyone. With Easter right around the corner, there are some floral options as well. I’ve listed the dresses according to price points at the time of this writing (some were/are are on sale). I really wish I was in the market for a new dress because this round up has some beautiful options! Spring Vacation Outfit Packing List
We are headed out on our longest trip as a family. Nine days away, no access to convenient laundry. This most certainly calls for a Vacation Outfit Packing List. The weather is supposed to be in the mid 60s. We will be walking a lot. Hopefully, some light hiking too. Nothing too fancy but maybe an outfit or two for a nicer dinner. Anyway, here is the packing list. (I’ll probably refer to a version of it for the kids too but kids can really get away with any outfit. They already have their favorites that they wear regardless of the weather, so there is that lol.) I like that…

A Weekend in New York City
Oh New York. Where to even begin? This city has my heart. The energy, the design, the history, the people. All of it. Keep reading for how R and I spent our latest 2 days in New York City. You can also check out our previous itineraries here and here. Where We Stayed (and Almost Stayed) We booked our stay at Arlo Midtown, which is a boutique hotel in Manhattan. It was a great location. We walked most places from the hotel. (Disclaimer: We walked A LOT. R and I love to walk in cities. When we were in Chicago, we would sometimes just go for random walks to…

Mackinaw Road: Favorite Beauty Products
Hi there! Once again, I am definitely not a fashion or beauty blogger but I thought it might be fun to update the beauty products I’m loving as we enter 2022. Cabin and Home Updates
Hi there! Just some scattered thoughts and cabin and home updates here before I switch over to relaxation mode with finishing up summer and then scrambling mode as we get back-to-school ready. **This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! Beach Cabin Vanity I can’t remember if I mentioned previously that we are using my childhood dresser as a vanity at the Beach Cottage. Tearing out the red, orange and yellow contact paper was surprisingly sentimental for me. Anyway, I originally thought- Great! Let’s repurpose the dresser as a vanity and save some money. I’m pretty sure we did…

A Cape Cod Inspired Celebration
You may or may not know that I love something inspired. Okay, maybe even a little theme-y. When my sister and brother in law suggested lobster rolls for our Mother’s Day celebration, I was all in. Then, I saw some candles. And maybe sent a text suggesting that everybody dress the part. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Keep reading for the details of our Cape Cod Inspired Celebration. As a disclaimer, I should mention that I’ve never been to Cape Cod. Someday soon hopefully! **This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! The Food My sister and brother…

The wall mount faucet is in and I’m loving…
