Gift Guide for School-Aged Kids
Good morning and Welcome to the Gift Guide for School-Aged Kids! I asked for some input from my 7 & 10 year olds, but then I ended up going rogue and making the final list while they were at school. Nonetheless, this Gift Guide was made with their ages in mind.

Cozy Winter Clothes- Mackinaw Road Monday
Good morning and Welcome to Mackinaw Road Monday where most of the time things are pretty random but today are actually somewhat organized. I’m talking about Cozy Winter Clothes. I’ve put together a little board of all of the options I’m considering for this winter. Since I usually have 2-3 colors (I use that term very loosely as the colors are usually black, cream/white, and camel) I wear in each season, it makes it easier to mix and match tops and pants for the maximum number of cozy outfits available to me.

Mackinaw Road Monday: 5 Card Games for Kids
Hi again! It’s been awhile since we’ve had a Mackinaw Road Monday, so I thought another one was due… even though it isn’t Monday… again. One of the silver linings of being quarantined has been the opportunity for more family game nights. We also use the games as breaks during the day or as incentives for finishing online school tasks. Five games have quickly become our family favorites. (Okay, one may not be as loved by the parents as the kids. More on that in a bit.) Keep reading for our top card games for kids.

Mackinaw Road Monday: Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Hi there! Well… April is almost over. It only felt like it lasted 3 years- lol! Oh, and it’s not Monday. But, as has become my mantra lately… close enough. I don’t have 3 ingredients for this dish? Close enough. We have been slowly getting in the swing of things. We love a good birthday parade. Online school is still challenging but fine. The sun came back- yay! Our Stay at Home order was extended until May 15 in Michigan, so we will have to get creative with wishing our moms a Happy Mother’s Day, but I am so grateful that I get to be with my kids on the…

Colonial Home Kitchen: Kitchen Chairs
Kitchen Chairs Hi there! It has been so sunny this week that I’m already thinking about the summer at the Beach Cabin. The water is currently shut off there to avoid pipes freezing, etc. So, I thought I’d share how I incorporated a little beachy feel into our colonial home’s kitchen to get us through winter and back to those dreamy summer days. Since it is very difficult for me to stick to one topic even though the space is tiny, I also included a sweet project that my mom did with the kids and a round up of our top dream kitchen chair contenders as well as a quick…

Mackinaw Road Monday: The Count, Glamping, & More
Hi and Happy Friday! This week, we will be covering the topics of affordable art, historical fiction, a super fun concert venue, glamping in Michigan, and more lighting. This is the last post on Friday (well… maybe not the last one… but I think I’ll be switching to Mondays for all things miscellaneous on Mackinaw Road … how is that for some alliteration?) We will see how it works. But, for now, Welcome to Mackinaw Road Monday… on Friday …. This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission. Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Give Me Five
Hi and Happy New Year! It’s been awhile since there has been a Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road. I thought it would be fun to bring it back (albeit a couple of days early given that the days are all confused this holiday season anyway) but with a little twist. Don’t worry, though, it will still be as random as ever. Just a bit more of a structured randomness- haha! I’m going to try to cover five finds every Friday and hopefully it will only take about five minutes of your time. In this five, there should be a little bit of home, travel, art, gifts, and clothes. Sooo…. here…
