A Simple Christmas Kitchen: Brass & Berry
I finally got around to decorating our Simple Christmas Kitchen. Despite trying to keep the kitchen minimally decorated, I somehow managed to incorporated almost all of the Christmas colors that were contenders this year. The best part is that the decorations I thought would be difficult to hang up didn’t give me any problems. It was a Christmas miracle!

Living Room Plans: A Sectional and Accent Chair Options
Hi there! I was planning on sharing a Fall Dining Table this week, but life got busy with a knee surgery and birthdays and soccer and tennis…. So, I’m going to talk about our Living Room Plans instead! Much like our son’s room, our living room is constantly getting updates and sometimes outright changes. While the tear down/complete TV makeovers are super fun (my favorite things to watch), the reality is that often times at our house the changes are sort of a slow burn. Switching things out one at a time. Or, often times experiencing a domino effect with one change leading to another and another. Such is the…

Mackinaw Road Monday Fall Updates
Good morning and Happy Monday! This week, I thought I would just give some updates about various and miscellaneous topics. So, the usual Monday. Keep reading for entryway wallpaper updates, a new mirror enroute to the house, The Madison, Half Baked Harvest lunch favorites, and a sweater comb that has become a fast favorite. Side note: the stars must be aligned (or something like that) because I have been on a decision-making roll this past week! Very unlike me!

Entryway Wallpaper : Serena and Lily Wallpaper
With fall in full swing and the kids back in school (fingers crossed, fingers crossed), now seems like a great time to attempt to start posting regularly again. We recently updated our Entryway Wallpaper. Actually, we never had wallpaper in this entry. We inherited beautiful entryway wallpaper in our old 1926 home… It was a lovely terra-cotta grasscloth of which I somehow have zero photos… it received so many compliments! While we went a different direction with the style of entryway wallpaper in this colonial home, we are hoping that it has the same welcoming vibe as guests (someday) enter our house.

Mackinaw Road Monday: Fan Favorites
Hi there! Get ready for some truly random musings on this Monday morning (as well as some not-so-great iphone pics). This includes my attempted mirror selfies prior to our family photo session, our 1920’s bathroom plans, apple pie, a favorite podcast and book purchase, a preordered book, and (actually semi-related) things I have my eye on from a recent collaboration launch between two favorites. So, to tie it all together maybe this week we will just call the random list: Fan Favorites.

Cozy Autumn Living Room
Hi there! I’m back with our Autumn Living Room Mantel and Shelves. And a few other Autumn decorations thrown in for good measure too. All brought to you with the help of my funny and curious 7-year old (complete with cheesy Cheeto fingers). He had a lot of fun with the camera timer and jumping in to create blurry “ghost” appearances. But, you’re here for the Autumn Living Room decorations (sans the ghost shots), so let’s get to it!

Kitchen Shelf Styling- Autumn Decor
Hi there! The weather turned suddenly earlier this week. It was the perfect motivation to try out some autumn decor on our open kitchen shelves, courtesy of The Counting House. Kitchen Shelf Styling is a great way to refresh the space as the seasons change. Before we begin, let’s give a collective good-bye to these late summer shelves in our modern traditional kitchen. (You can also check out this post for the Spring Shelves and this post for the Winter Shelves.)

DIY Design: Cane Console Makeover Look for Less
Good morning! I’ve been slowly working on a DIY Custom Cane Console Makeover for Less. I’ve been pinning cane consoles for such a long time now. And Farrow and Ball’s Down Pipe for even longer. Read on to see how I transformed a Cane Console Table from Target based on Cane Tables that are considerably more costly! *This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! R recently borrowed the desk by the windows in the family room for his office/the Guest Bedroom at the Beach Cabin, leaving an empty space that has since collected lost (then miraculously found) library…
