A Weekend in New York City
Oh New York. Where to even begin? This city has my heart. The energy, the design, the history, the people. All of it. Keep reading for how R and I spent our latest 2 days in New York City. You can also check out our previous itineraries here and here. Where We Stayed (and Almost Stayed) We booked our stay at Arlo Midtown, which is a boutique hotel in Manhattan. It was a great location. We walked most places from the hotel. (Disclaimer: We walked A LOT. R and I love to walk in cities. When we were in Chicago, we would sometimes just go for random walks to…

Where to Stay in Traverse City: An Michigan Airbnb Farm
We finally got away! And to such a charming Michigan Airbnb. The style was amazing. It was the perfect pandemic “getaway.” We had the farm to ourselves, complete with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and access to a 17-mile hiking/jogging/biking trail. We were able to order out a few (okay, almost all) the times during our stay from restaurants in Traverse City. Read on for all of the details.

Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Top 5 List
Hi and Happy Friday! Welcome to a place where we talk about all of the discoveries of the week. This week I’m sharing my Top 5 List. Sort of. A location that is in my Top 5 Places to Visit. Lighting that is in my Top 5 wish-list purchases for the house this year. A dish reminiscent of those childhood Spaghetti-O’s (but much better!) that is in our family’s Top 5 dinner rotations. A book that I read a few years ago but that remains on my Top 5 list. And, finally, the softest pants that are in my Top 5 rotation for winter and spring.

Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Tacos, Shopping, Bloody Mary’s, and Barre
Welcome back to my randomness… with Friday Finds, Take 2….Hope you all had a great week! We made it to almost-Friady. Yay! And I made it through February without a broken bone- double Yay! Our only February hick-up was that our dog ate sand at the beach and had to spend the night at the Emergency Animal Hospital. Fortunately, he is back to his crazy, jumping, kissing 10-year old self. [I have no more fun ways to say this, so just know… this post may contain affiliate links, meaning that, at no cost to you, I may be compensated. NOLA in 2 days
A while ago, my husband and I traveled to New Orleans. Frankly, I went along because it had been a long winter and I thought a little sunshine and warm weather would do my soul some good.
