Mackinaw Road Mondays: Springtime, Sunglasses, Flowers, and More
Hi there! I wrote this post last week, before everything happened. And while we’re all a bit (lot) anxious and social distancing and praying for those who are and will be affected on all kinds of levels, I’m hoping that this can just be a little break and distraction from all of it. So, Welcome to Mackinaw Road Mondays where we cover five topics. This week, they almost all involve the sun or flowers… or both! How’s that for actually being semi-focused on springtime this week! And, after this week, a little springtime cheeriness is definitely in the cards.

Coastal Boy Bedroom
Well… it happened. Again. I changed our son’s bedroom for maybe the 3rd time since he has been in twin beds. You can check out the original room here. And the dino version here. This time the goal was to create a Coastal Boy Bedroom. Our trip to California was so amazing and a place that just defines our family’s love of the coast, be it during Michigan summers and/or California winters. How dreamy would that combo be?!? But, back to that Coastal Boy Bedroom.

Mackinaw Road Mondays: On turning 40, a Circus, Jeans, and a Salad
Hello and Happy Monday! Welcome to Mackinaw Road Mondays where we cover five miscellaneous topics. This week is a good one! It involves turning 40, a circus, jeans, a salad, and how I’m mixing traditional with tech in planning our next trip.

Laguna Beach/Dana Point: Where to Stay, Where to Eat and What to Do
Good morning! We recently returned from a quick trip to Laguna Beach, California. It was just what our family needed, and we are already scheming for ways to save so we can make this a February tradition. My husband and I visited a few years ago and I immediately fell in love. I was so excited to bring our kids this time! Our daughter, who really doesn’t like to venture too far from our neighborhood for dinner quietly told me she would be willing to move to California. I wish! Also, just a brief disclaimer. Many of our activities were in Dana Point, which is just down the beach from…

Initially, our top 3 choices were Montana (you can read about the last time I was there here), New…

Colonial Home Kitchen: Kitchen Chairs
Kitchen Chairs Hi there! It has been so sunny this week that I’m already thinking about the summer at the Beach Cabin. The water is currently shut off there to avoid pipes freezing, etc. So, I thought I’d share how I incorporated a little beachy feel into our colonial home’s kitchen to get us through winter and back to those dreamy summer days. Since it is very difficult for me to stick to one topic even though the space is tiny, I also included a sweet project that my mom did with the kids and a round up of our top dream kitchen chair contenders as well as a quick…

Favorite Blue and Green Paint Colors
Hi! I’m back this week with Favorite Blue and Green Paint colors. Last week we were talking all about tried-and-true White Paint colors. (If you missed it, just click here.) This week is all about blues and greens. Pantone came out recently with their color pick for 2020- it is Classic Blue. And while this list doesn’t contain Classic Blue per se, it does contain blues and greens that are classic in style and quite possibly will stand the test of time.

Mackinaw Road Monday: The Count, Glamping, & More
Hi and Happy Friday! This week, we will be covering the topics of affordable art, historical fiction, a super fun concert venue, glamping in Michigan, and more lighting. This is the last post on Friday (well… maybe not the last one… but I think I’ll be switching to Mondays for all things miscellaneous on Mackinaw Road … how is that for some alliteration?) We will see how it works. But, for now, Welcome to Mackinaw Road Monday… on Friday …. This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission. Thank you! I’m guessing that most people’s first choice for their homes…
