Favorite Blue and Green Paint Colors
Hi! I’m back this week with Favorite Blue and Green Paint colors. Last week we were talking all about tried-and-true White Paint colors. (If you missed it, just click here.) This week is all about blues and greens. Pantone came out recently with their color pick for 2020- it is Classic Blue. And while this list doesn’t contain Classic Blue per se, it does contain blues and greens that are classic in style and quite possibly will stand the test of time.

Mackinaw Road Monday: The Count, Glamping, & More
Hi and Happy Friday! This week, we will be covering the topics of affordable art, historical fiction, a super fun concert venue, glamping in Michigan, and more lighting. This is the last post on Friday (well… maybe not the last one… but I think I’ll be switching to Mondays for all things miscellaneous on Mackinaw Road … how is that for some alliteration?) We will see how it works. But, for now, Welcome to Mackinaw Road Monday… on Friday …. This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission. Thank you! I’m guessing that most people’s first choice for their homes…

Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Andre, the Enneagram, and a Pink Fridge
Hi and Happy Friday! Welcome to a place where we talk about all of the discoveries of the week. This week we will once again be covering five topics in short form. This week includes mention of the enneagram, a cute llama, turquoise water, a plant that makes me look good, and some delicious lasagna! I’m so excited about the Art category this week. I adore art and would love to have more of it our home. And there are just so many wonderful local artists. So, for this topic, I’d love to introduce some of my favorites/most coveted pieces of art during the Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road…

Cozy Winter Living Room
Hi again! I’m so excited to share our Cozy Winter Living Room with you. As always, I just couldn’t get into the Christmas spirit until after Thanksgiving. The stomach bug struck our house the week before Thanksgiving so that was also a definite conspirator in keeping Christmas at bay until the Friday after. And then there were only 3 weeks until Christmas, so the time has come and gone to share our Christmas decorations. (Although, if you look closely, there are still some decorations that can pull double duty as Christmas and winter decor. Maybe that’s why my decorations bins are always such as disaster… some decorations trickle in every…

Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Top 5 List
Hi and Happy Friday! Welcome to a place where we talk about all of the discoveries of the week. This week I’m sharing my Top 5 List. Sort of. A location that is in my Top 5 Places to Visit. Lighting that is in my Top 5 wish-list purchases for the house this year. A dish reminiscent of those childhood Spaghetti-O’s (but much better!) that is in our family’s Top 5 dinner rotations. A book that I read a few years ago but that remains on my Top 5 list. And, finally, the softest pants that are in my Top 5 rotation for winter and spring.

A Simple Salad with Avocado
A Simple Salad that is just that… SIMPLE! It can be made in about five minutes and requires only 8 ingredients, most of which are likely sitting in your kitchen as you read this. This salad is light and compliments almost any dinner but can stand on its own, too.

Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: Give Me Five
Hi and Happy New Year! It’s been awhile since there has been a Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road. I thought it would be fun to bring it back (albeit a couple of days early given that the days are all confused this holiday season anyway) but with a little twist. Don’t worry, though, it will still be as random as ever. Just a bit more of a structured randomness- haha! I’m going to try to cover five finds every Friday and hopefully it will only take about five minutes of your time. In this five, there should be a little bit of home, travel, art, gifts, and clothes. Sooo…. here…

A Red and Blue Christmas Table and A Christmas Dinner Menu
Happy Holidays! I can’t believe that Christmas is already here. I thought I’d just quickly share our Christmas Dinner Menu & Red and Blue Christmas Table plans. It’s a little traditional, a little coastal, a little Scandinavian-inspired… you get the idea… as usual… just making throwing-in-everything-I’m-drawn-to and creating my made-up style 😉

Modern Traditional Christmas Kitchen
Hello and Happy Holidays! This time of year is always a whirlwind with holiday gatherings, kids’ concerts, school parties, and all of the fun!!! I’m currently trying, trying, trying to keep it simple in our Modern Traditional Christmas Kitchen. Also, admittedly, I ran out of time with my refusal to decorate until after Thanksgiving and the shorter span of weeks between it and Christmas. Sometimes routines are good, sometimes not so much. Oh well!
