Mackinaw Road: Favorite Beauty Products
Hi there! Once again, I am definitely not a fashion or beauty blogger but I thought it might be fun to update the beauty products I’m loving as we enter 2022. I think that almost all of the items came recommended by family or friends. **DISCLOSURE: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation at no extra cost to you. Thank you! Beauty Products In addition to my face wash, I’ve been using this facial scrub every few days and am loving it. Colonial Home: Kid Bedrooms
While our primary bedroom and bathroom remain untouched despite the need for updates, our kids’ bedrooms keep getting tweaked. I’ll go into more detail below but thought it might be fun to share some kid bedroom updates that have happened over the past year or so. I’ve also included progress photos as we take a little trip down memory lane. In general, our colonial home changes are a slow burn with adjustments made here and there. Let’s begin our tour.

Happy New Year 2022!
I hope you all had a nice holiday season! The plaid-on-plaid in the dining room may have put me over the edge. There was a fairly quick clear out of Christmas New Year’s weekend. A few winter items remain though. I thought it might be fun to share a quick list of possible New Year 2022 projects and posts with you this week. *This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! January is always a “get organized” sort of month. I bought these glass storage containers last year. I was nervous about the glass being difficult to keep clean,…

A Plaid Christmas: The Dining Room
Hi again! Back-to-back blog posts can only mean one thing… the kids will soon be on winter break. As you can read a bit about in this post (and this one), the picture frame molding made it up just in time for Thanksgiving. We also hosted a small work gathering last weekend, so that was also on my mind as we hurried to finish the project. What is more classic in a colonial home that picture frame molding? A Plaid Christmas of course. DISCLOSURE: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission. Thank you! A Plaid Christmas: The Dining…

Christmas Living Room Styling
Christmas Living Room Styling is one of the most fun (and sometimes frustrating) activities of the year for me! This year, I am attempting to slowly add in a green and black color scheme. With all of the other colors mixed in too. Of course. Because there is no avoiding red (and/or plaid) at our house-haha! DISCLOSURE: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! Last week, I finally had a chance to sort through all of the decorations that were thrown up in the pure excitement of the season! We almost always go to the Christmas Tree Farm…

DISCLOSURE: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! Picture Frame Molding- Another Tidbit One of the biggest activities this month was putting up the picture frame molding in the dining room and painting it white. I love how it turned out and had so much fun…

Holiday Dining Room on Mackinaw Road
Hi! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving Weekend!! This post is probably 10 days too late, but here it is just the same. DISCLOSURE: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you click and purchase, I may receive some compensation. Thank you! Last year for Thanksgiving, our table was on a much more traditional level. (You can check it out here.) This year, however, I was scrambling. Gretchen and I added picture frame molding to the room and I…
